CNC Progressive Thread Generator & Simulator
The CNC Progressive Thread Generator from MacroMill CNC helps programmers configure progressive thread machining parameters, inspect the cutting sequence and simulate the complete progressive threading process directly in the browser.
The MacroMill CNC Progressive Thread Generator & Simulator is designed to help CNC programmers visualize a progressive low-load threading strategy before taking the machining process to the machine. Configure the thread, inspect the tool movement, follow the progressive machining sequence and see the material removal develop directly in the 3D simulation.
Build the thread progressively instead of loading the complete profile at once.
The machining strategy separates the thread form into controlled cutting stages. Root depth is established progressively, followed by independent flank machining. This provides a clear way to visualize how the final thread profile is created from a sequence of controlled passes.
With the CNC Progressive Thread Generator, users can review progressive root passes, left and right flank machining, synchronized spindle motion and live material removal before production machining.
Progressive root cuts move from the major diameter toward the programmed minor diameter.
The tool retracts before repositioning for the next machining stage.
Progressive passes create the first programmed flank from major toward minor diameter.
The opposite flank is machined independently to complete the programmed thread form.
Configure, inspect and understand the complete progressive threading process.
The simulator combines machining parameters, thread geometry, tool movement and 3D stock visualization in a single browser-based application.
Major & Minor Diameter
Define the programmed thread diameter range and visualize the radial depth used throughout the progressive cutting sequence.
Thread Pitch Control
Set the required thread pitch and visualize the synchronized helical relationship between spindle rotation and axial tool travel.
Independent Flank Angles
Configure the left and right thread flank geometry independently for symmetrical or asymmetrical progressive thread profiles.
Insert Width & Geometry
Tool geometry is included in the machining logic and visual simulation to help represent the programmed cutting strategy more accurately.
Progressive Radial Steps
Define controlled root and flank radial increments while the application calculates the required progressive machining sequence.
Live Material Removal
Follow the cutting tool through the machining cycle while the workpiece updates to show the progressive thread form developing.

One machining strategy. Multiple CNC controller families.
The full CNC Automation Pro version provides controller-specific CNC output while preserving the programmed progressive machining strategy. Always confirm machine-builder requirements and available control features before running generated CNC code.
From thread dimensions to visual machining strategy.
Enter Parameters
Configure thread diameter, pitch, machining length, flank geometry, tool dimensions, depth increments, spindle speed and the available machining parameters.
Review Geometry
Inspect the calculated thread form and confirm that the selected tool and programmed geometry are suitable for the required profile.
Run Simulation
Follow the tool, spindle and workpiece through the root and flank passes while watching the progressive material removal.
Generate CNC Output
CNC Automation Pro members can select the required supported controller and generate the corresponding standalone CNC program.
Review the Program
Confirm tool calls, spindle direction, feeds, speeds, limits, machine-specific M codes and controller syntax before production use.
Machine Validation
Use simulation, safe clearances, single block and a controlled dry run before allowing generated CNC code to machine a production component.
Generated CNC code must be professionally reviewed before machine use.
Machine configurations, control options, tool offsets, spindle directions, M codes, limits and safety requirements can differ between machines. Any generated program must be checked by a qualified CNC programmer and validated using appropriate simulation, machine-limit checks, single-block operation and a controlled dry run before production machining.
